In our programme area, we select volunteers from the rural areas and through them we reach out the families to adopt changes in the following ways:
Understanding and accepting the present situation and results due to
Steps to be initated to improve the situation.
Total number of beneficiaries – @ 1500 families
Promoting and strengthening the technical, social and financial
Promoting acceptance at the individual family level, working with the
Individual members who dont have toilets are grouped together and
Most of the partners chose PRA methods as best methods to map the resources and to understand the requirements of the communities. In the PRA exercise, the SHG members, Federation leaders, staff of the NGO and the village public had participated. Through full participation of the people, Village Maps, Resource Map, Linkage the villages have, village population, educational status of the people, needs of the people and the problems of the people are documented. This has helped the people to understand their current status and where we should reach. In some partner areas such as RCPDE, surveys were conducted to systematically document the information.
As planned we have enabled 320 families to construct toilets and use them by all the family members concerned among 10 villages.
